What are the benefits of a home based franchise?

22 July 2021 by Eileen

Home-based franchises offer an array of benefits to franchisees. You can work from the comfort of your own home, enjoy more flexible working patterns and even save a substantial sum of money. Working from home is an excellent option for many different types of people, whether you are single or have a family. Let’s take a look at some of the benefits you could gain from investing in a home-based franchise.

What are the benefits of a home based franchise

Enjoy your home comforts

Of all the many benefits of a home-based franchise, the opportunity to enjoy your home comforts can be the most tempting. Instead of having to wear a suffocating business suit, you can choose your own outfit for your daily work. On your lunch break, you will not have to eat at your desk, but you can put your feet up on the couch and enjoy some home-cooked food.

You can even control the climate to your wishes and turn up the heating when you’re too cold or open the windows when you feel too warm and stuffy. In essence, you have more control over creating your working environment without the interference of others such as colleagues or a boss.

No more negative environments

Workplace bullying, office gossip and pressurised environments can be off-putting to many people. With a home-based franchise, you can be your own boss and avoid the negative environment that can often exist in a workplace. Instead of having to endure the fast-paced pressure that an office environment can generate, you can work at your own pace. This can result in a more productive working day and a greater feeling of satisfaction when you finish your day’s work.

Tax breaks

There are often ways to claim tax rebates for many of your business expenses. For example, if you have to invest in certain office equipment, such as expensive computers, which are essential to running your franchise, it may be possible to offset these expenditures. You might also be able to claim for other outlays, such as electricity usage.

Flexible working patterns

One of the primary benefits of franchising is that you will be able to enjoy flexible working patterns. As a home-based franchisee, this is even more poignant because you can work from anywhere at any time. Some home based franchises will provide you with the flexibility to work outside the “normal” 9 to 5 hours, which can be great for your schedule if you have children or other commitments.

No more stressful commutes

The daily commute is a stressful experience that many workers long to avoid. Having to endure commutes in all kinds of weather and battle with heavy traffic might have been a necessary evil for you. With your own home-based franchise, however, this commute can be relegated to the past. Instead, you can enjoy a leisurely morning and those precious extra minutes in bed.

Commuting can also be expensive. While costs vary between different countries and cities, working from home can save you a significant amount of money. In some cities, you may save as much as £1460 per year on commuting costs when you run a home-based franchise.

Reduced overheads

Running your franchise business from home is an excellent way to reduce your overheads. Rental rates on premises can be very expensive, but this outlay is eliminated when you’re based in your own home. Instead of injecting cash into rent payments, you can generate a larger profit, which always comes in useful! Another added advantage is that home-based franchises are often cheaper to invest in. As a result, you can find the ideal home-based business, regardless of the size of your budget.

A better work/life balance

Working at home allows you to establish a healthier work/life balance. Rather than being stuck in your workplace for several hours every day, you can be at home, spending more time with your family. Even more importantly, if you are a parent, you can be more present in your children’s lives. You can enjoy the flexibility to wave them off to school in the mornings and welcome them home in the afternoons. This is a good way to build a better family dynamic.

Save the pennies

While you are saving money on overheads and commuting, you may also find there are other money-saving benefits of a home-based franchise. For example, instead of having to buy expensive suits or work uniforms, you can happily sit at your laptop in a casual shirt and jeans. There are even hidden savings at lunchtime! When you are based in an office or other type of workplace, it can be tempting to head out for an expensive takeaway during your lunch break. Conversely, it’s easy to whip up a cheap and healthy meal in your own home kitchen.
