Did you know the benefits of piecing jigsaw puzzles? First, they are a great tool for mindfulness. What I mean by mindfulness is that by focusing on placing the pieces together, it helps you to shut out day-to-day stresses and worries, especially during times like these.
With all these restrictions in place for the great cause, undoubtedly, it is best to keep yourself and everyone safe by staying at home as much as possible. During this time, why not sit down and enjoy some time out with a jigsaw. Not only that, but jigsaw puzzles also employ a host of skills like long and short term memory, deductive reasoning, cognitive flexibility, mental rotation and visuospatial perception. They use both sides of your brain too!
I am so grateful that this Ravensburger No Ball Game puzzle 1000 pieces came just in time to help with my well-being and to fight boredom at home.
This is a 1000 piece puzzle featuring a little fishing village with fishing boats that are being maintained, washing that is drying on the line and local residents getting on with their day. There are animals gathering along the quay, different types of birds sitting in the trees and in the foreground, puffins and seagulls wait for their next catch. It seems that anyone and anything, except ball games, is welcome here! This picture is illustrated by Scottish artist Ailsa Black.
This puzzle is suitable for children aged 12 and above. The matt finished puzzle measures 70 cm by 50 cm when complete. The puzzles are made from strong premium grade cardboard, with linen finish print to minimise glare on the puzzle image. Each piece is stamped with such precision that a quiet click can be heard when one piece is inserted in the other which they call ‘Soft Click Technology’. I love that this high-quality puzzle can be done over and over again and kept safely in its sturdy box when not required.
It didn’t take my son and myself too long to piece it together. It took us both two days. It shows that we have too much time on our hands! It was lovely seeing the finished product, especially the colourful buildings. The blue sky was quite challenging but the puzzle, on the whole, is very colourful and fun.
We love doing jigsaw puzzles at home as they are a great work out for the brain and can be beneficial for improving problem-solving, motor skills and eye coordination for children and adults. These are lovely puzzles that we will do again and again in the future. Do check them out as they are great for many reasons! It is available to buy from good stores and Amazon.
