Gingerbread House with Haribo

14 December 2019 by Eileen

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and this year, we were on HARIBO’s nice list to receive this delicious HARIBO hamper. There was also an extra special gift to give us this opportunity to create magical Christmas memories by making our very own gingerbread house.

Gingerbread House with Haribo HAMPER

Inside our hamper, we have HARIBO’s new frosty friends – Pip Polar Bear and Puck Penguin jelly and foam sweets which are packed in cute polar bear and penguin-themed gift boxes. Additionally, there is a gingerbread house cutter, Starmixmas, Giant Trees and a Share the Fun pouch. But that is not all, our box of treats even includes cut-out selfie props!

This is not my first time making a gingerbread house and we have also bought ready-made ones to decorate as well. This year though, I decided to make my own. I did omit the ginger spice and replaced it with cinnamon as my children are not keen with ginger spice. The cookies smelled gorgeous! It took us a couple of hours to make the cookies including the baking. Unfortunately, halfway through, our brand new oven decided to breakdown on us and I had to bake the rest of it at my neighbour’s house!

Once the cookies were cooled down, I pieced the walls of the house together and Mr K and Ms C decorated it with the HARIBO treats! We didn’t want to overload the roof with too many sweeties hence they have been placed neatly in a row!

This is our finished product and I think it looks great, even if I do say so myself! Thanks to HARIBO for sending us these delicious treats to create this wonderful festive tradition for our family! So what is your family Christmas tradition? Let me know in the comments below!
