Stare Off is a competitive staring game that requires you to hold your nerve and your stare as long as possible! Players go eye-to-eye in this tournament-style knockout game and every match is the best of three Stare Offs. The winner progresses to the final. This game is suitable for ages eight and above, with three or more players!
Inside this box, it comes with a stare-off headset, blocking screen, red card, 23 distraction cards and instructions. To play Stare Off, you are required to place the headset together. I do find the headset too plasticky and not comfortable to wear. It is quite difficult to place the sticks properly together. The plastic sticks are quite stiff and tight when fixed together which makes it difficult to disassemble. We have to use a flat screwdriver and pliers to take it apart and I am afraid it will snap at some point. I do hope they come up with a better design this does let it down.
On the other hand, the game concept itself is very fun to play! Two players wear the headset at each end and battle to keep those eyes wide open! A third player is the referee who controls the match with the official red card. Whenever an offending player blinks, he is shown to the red card! I find it hard and tiring just watching them stare!
The game is straightforward to play and it is a great competitive party game! It is available to buy from good toy retailers, online and Amazon. For more information, please check out Ideal Game Facebook.
