Cakes For Every Occasion

8 July 2019 by Eileen

Cakes For Every Occasion

One of the greatest things about cake is that there is one for every occasion. Not only is there one for every occasion, but there is a cake for every mood, every event, and every person. There is a cake for every person, every taste, and every dietary requirement. As summer is here, it’s time for barbecues, picnics, garden parties and of course, the weddings, birthdays and baby showers that happen all year round and what better way to celebrate all of these events than with a nice bit of cake. Here is a list of cakes for every occasion, you’ll be sure to find one which suits you:

Cakes For Every Occasion

For Mid Morning With A Cuppa

We’ll start here, it’s not really an occasion but do you really need an excuse for cake? No, thought not. So for a mid-morning, any day of the week little cake, then a Banana Cake is your go-to. It’s an easy one to make, it goes so well with a cup of tea or coffee, and if someone pops round to see you, then it’s one of the best things to offer them. Even better than that, you can mix it up by adding chocolate chips, adding coffee to give you a boost or toasting it and spreading butter or Nutella.

For A Quick And Easy One

If you need something last minute to take to a barbecue or to your kid’s school, then a sheet cake is the one for you. One batch of the buttermilk cake quickly bakes in a 13×9–inch pan, and a small batch of the cream cheese frosting covers it. Top the cake with raspberries to add even more flavour and for some pretty flair, and you can easily feed a big group.

For An Exciting Summer Party

In the hot summer months, something lighter and with zest is perfect and as G&T’s are the ideal summer drink, so why not make a cake to match? Gin and Tonic Cake is a summer cake, but it also is just a tasty in winter by the fire!

For Sunday Afternoons

Sundays are a great day for being lazy and eating just that little bit more! A Ginger, Orange and Carrot Cake is great for any time during a Sunday- as part of a brunch, dessert or Netflix Binge companion! What’s more, is that you can even kid yourself that it’s semi-healthy because of the carrot content!

For Afternoon Tea

You can’t go wrong with a Victoria Sponge for an Afternoon Tea. It’s so much fun to have Afternoon Tea at home as you only have to make the cakes and sandwiches you like, you can have it exactly how you want it.

For a Romantic Dinner

Any kind of Cheesecake is excellent for a date as it can look very impressive, but it is surprisingly simple. You can get creative with your biscuit bases- why not chocolate digestives, ginger biscuits or bourbon creams? Then there are endless cheesecake flavours; Baileys Irish Cream, Raspberry and white chocolate, Lime or Mocha.

For a Sleepy Hangover Day

If you know you’re going to be hungover and tired one day, then why not get ahead and make some brownies beforehand? They are the ultimate comfort food, they taste amazing, and you really can have as many as you like.

For a Bake Sale

Another occasion you want to impress at would be a bake sale, so why not try your hand at Millionaire’s shortbread? They look fantastic, taste amazing, they melt-in-the-mouth and they’re ready in an hour. They’ll sell out like hotcakes at any bake sale, so make sure you do enough batches.

For A Picnic

Something different for a picnic is always good, so have a go at this summer twist on a classic Bakewell tart for a pretty dessert that is perfect for packing up and taking on picnics. The Nectarine Bakewell traybake makes the most of seasonal stone fruit with juicy nectarines topping the soft almond frangipane. Melting chunks of chopped marzipan add extra rich almond flavour to this crowd-pleasing dessert.

For The Vegan

There are tonnes of Vegan Cake recipes now, but if you need to make something individual for a guest or you yourself just need a quick cake fix, then this raspberry mug cake can be ready in ten minutes in the microwave. You can also serve it with a scoop of dairy-free ice cream for a quick dessert.

For A Healthier Option

It is possible to have a healthier chocolate cake, yes, really. This is a really chocolatey, moist and a little bit gooey cake, generously slathered in a healthy chocolate mousse ganache and it made with only eight easy-to-find ingredients and takes just 30 minutes in the oven. It is also packed with superfoods, yes, superfoods! So if you are on a diet, counting calories or just fancy something different, then this 30-minute healthy chocolate cake is for you.

For A Treat

Now while cakes are for everyone, baking isn’t necessary, so if it’s not your thing but you still want a cake to impress or for a special occasion then look no further than this Cookies and Cream Cake by Anges de Sucre. It’s unique Oreo Swiss meringue buttercream uses real dairy butter and whipped free range egg whites to create the silkiest, melt-in-your-mouth-est frosting. Couple that with an Oreo cookie and vanilla sponge layer cake sandwiched, frosted and then decorated with a partial white Belgian chocolate drip and a crescent of piped buttercream swirls, Oreo cookie crumbs, and white chocolate pearls, Oreo cookie shards and of course, Oreo cookies! Is your mouth watering yet? On top of that, you can personalize your Cookies & Cream cake with a 20 character personalized message and get it delivered straight to your door.

For A Birthday

Here’s where it’s time to have a go at a showstopper and go all out for a loved one’s birthday. This layered Funfetti Cake is perfect for a party, and with its rainbow-speckled sponge, creamy vanilla icing and sprinkles scattered on top, everyone is sure to love it. It serves 20-25 people as well, so everyone will be happy.

For A Wedding

If you want to have a go at making your own wedding cake then you should always just go for what you love but, if you need some ideas, then something elegant is what you really want to go for. An orange berry wedding cake will give you something a little different or try a Lemon and Elderflower cake just like Harry and Megan had or go for something summery and different with a Polka-dot strawberry cake. Don’t be put off by wedding cakes having tiers, all that is is three cakes instead of one and you don’t even have to do that, you can just have one big cake if you like, there are no rules when it comes to your own wedding.
