Make Your Home Uniquely Yours With These Simple Ideas

8 October 2018 by Eileen

Sometimes you might find that your house just doesn’t feel uniquely yours. You know that people have lived in it before you and it seems like it could be anyone’s home if you were to just walk in. There are some simple things that you can do to make your home feel like it belongs to your family and only your family. These ideas aren’t going to take a lot of time but will have your home looking personal in no time which you might find leads to a big improvement regarding how you feel about it.

Make Your Home Uniquely Yours With These Simple Ideas

Wall Decals

Something that a lot of people don’t have is wall decals. Even when they do, people tend to go for the same type of thing. Usually, these are inspirational quotes that help lift them up when they are having a bad day. Some of the less common ones are things that are more personal, things you enjoy. For example, if you have children, they might love Disney. You can get some beautiful Disney wall decals for your children’s bedroom, and these can be either Disney princesses or a picture of the castle.

Or, you might want something that is even more personal. You can get personalised wall decal with names of you and your family. All you have to do is find a service that offers this personalisation and get them to add a name at the bottom of your chosen decal.

Family Photos

One thing that is going to make your home uniquely yours is to have pictures of you and your family around the house. Most people have one or two around somewhere, but if you want the place to really feel like yours, this is a good way to go. We know what you’re thinking: ‘but I don’t have a nice frame, and this picture deserves a nice frame.’ Well yes, special pictures do deserve a special frame and that’s why you can buy custom picture frames online. If a nice frame is what you have been waiting for but you haven’t been able to find one, then go online and get a custom one.

If you don’t want to get a frame, then you can still have your family photos around your house. You can stick them around your walls with a piece of blue tack. We understand that if you have small children, precious frames may get broken and this is not something that you want.

Favourite Room

If you have enough space in your house, you should find a room and make it yours. This is for those of you who don’t want to make the entire house full of pink or Disney. By this, we mean that you should fill the room with things that you love. This could be books, blu-ray, cuddly toys and anything else. Make it something that will be unmistakably yours. You can decorate it however you want, making it look special and magical for you and your children. If you choose one room to do this in, if you ever do come to the decision to sell your house, you won’t have to spend countless hours getting it ready to sell because there will only be one room to change.

We hope that you find this advice useful and have a successful time trying to make your home uniquely yours.
