Flags of The World Game Review

25 June 2018 by Eileen Leave a Comment

How well do you know the flags of the world? Learning flags can be tricky, but the best way to learn them is through playing! Flags of The World from Tactic Games is a geography-based game that takes you on a trip around the world learning about the all the national flags, countries, capital cities and lots of other interesting information. It is suitable for children aged eight & above and can be played with up to 6 people.

This travel size game contains 200 cards packed with questions about different countries and their special features, as well as a detailed map of the world and six continent boards.

The aim of the game is to guess the flag correctly and place it on the right continent. The person with the most correctly placed cards on their board at the end wins the game!

Before the game, you have to decide which continents you want to play. As this was our first time playing, we decided to make it a bit simpler by only selecting one continent to play with.

Now separate those cards out from the rest of the cards according to their colour, shuffle the deck and take out the right number of cards, depending on the number of players (check the instructions). This deck makes up your question cards. The rest of the cards will be the scoring deck.

Take it in turns to guess the right countries and if you need help, the owner of the card will give the player a clue or two! Whenever there is an empty slot in front of the players, fill it with the top card from the question deck. Once the whole question deck has been used up, the game ends.

I do find this game very educational but at the same time, it is very difficult. My children are still learning about different countries in school and they were struggling to identify many of the countries’ flags! As for myself, I didn’t realise how poor my general knowledge of geography is! It is very embarrassing! I would definitely recommend this game to anyone as this is a great way to learn some great facts about the countries of the world!  It is available to buy from Smyths and Amazon.
