Shopkins Happy Places App Review

9 March 2018 by Eileen

Moose Enterprises and Kuato Studios are proud to present to you the brand new Shopkins Happy Places app, which is now available as a free download on the App Store! This is the first official game for the massively successful Shopkins Happy Places brand! Come and join all your favourite Lil’ Shoppies and decorate your own unique and stylish Happy Place happy home! It is suitable for aged five to eight year old!

Shopkins Happy Places App Review

Shopkins Happy Places centres around a fun fictional place called Happyville and is a hugely successful spin-off of Shopkins, one the most popular children’s entertainment franchises of recent years. This game will open up a new world for Shopkins fans where they can collect cute Petkins and decorate their own Happy Places, all while completing House Goals with the help of their favourite Lil’ Shoppies.

In true Kuato Studios style, Shopkins Happy Places will give fans a fun learning experience based on storytelling and narrative play. As the child plays, Kuato’s patent-pending TalesMaker engine records key moments from the play session and then presents these to the child as a record of their day. Young storytellers can explore sequencing images and apply text to create simple narrative structures, before saving their story creations to share with family and friends.

This app is free to download and is currently available for iOS devices only. Please do check if your gadget is suitable as the app runs on iOS 8.0 or newer. Parents do note that this game also offers in-app purchases, accessible only via a PIN-code (your year of birth). To purchase, click on the shopping cart and it will bring you to the Happy Shop. Each purchase costs £1.99 to a surprise delivery box and each box contains five random Petkins to decorate your Happy Place. You will either get Common (75% chance), Rare (16%), Ultra Race (8%) or Heirloom Petkins (1%). Of course, you can set no in-app purchases via your devices.

Ms C loves this type of simple game where they decorate the place and add their personal touches to it! This game is almost similar to The Sims game that she played with me. In this game, children get to decorate the rooms for Jessicake and she will prompt the child with decoration ideas based on the Lil’ Shoppies individual personalities thru her ‘bubble’ mind. For example, she is feeling tired and wants a rest. So get her a comfy Petkins bed for her to sleep! Keep on collecting points and earn a surprise each day to help them to build out a whole HappyVille.

The child can also take part in the #HouseGoal challenges which encourages more complex patterns based on simple story settings, such as birthday parties, or cooking contests. Ms C enjoys the game as it is engaging and fun! So what are you waiting for?
