Family Time with John Adams Ideal Games

14 November 2017 by Eileen

Family Time with John Adams Ideal Games. With the daylight becoming so short and the weather getting colder outside, we often find ourselves cosying up indoors playing board games in the warmth! We were delighted to receive this awesome selection of board games from John Adams to spend some quality family time together. They are Think Words Spin, Dinkee Linkee, Tipping Point and Telestrations. Did you know that John Adams have a new Facebook page for Ideal Games? Do pop by and give them a LIKE!

Think Words Spin

Think Words Spin is a simple, fun, fast-paced game where you spin the spinner, name the word/item and take the card to score a point! This is suitable for aged eight and above, for two to eight players. It comes with a small spinner, 80 cards and instructions. I love that all the cards can be stored inside the spinner and it can double as a travel game.

This game encourages everyone to take part and to think quickly. There are seven ways of playing this game but they are more or less the same. To play this game, you get to spin the spinner and whichever card the spinner points to, you match the colour to select the category and letter. Then shout out the answer to win. The players with the most cards win the game. We all enjoy this game and it’s great that it can be a quick game or can be played for longer because of the variety of games. It is a great way to us all to think fast! For more information, please visit http://www.johnadams.co.uk/product/think-words-spin/

Dinkee Linkee

Dinkee Linkee is a simple quiz game for children. It is suitable for aged eight and above, for three to thirty children! Inside the game, it comes with 120 cards, 4 pencils, 4 note pads and instructions. On each card, there are four questions and everyone has to work out what links the answers, shout out DINKEE! Whoever gets it right wins the card. To win the game, you will need to collect enough letters to spell DINKEE.

This game is best played with three or more players but of course, you could play with just two. We all enjoy this game. It is not a brain wracking game but in fact, the questions are simply to understand and make the link. All you need is to be quick at linking them together to work out the answer. This is another great game from John Adams and doubles as a travel game. For more information, please visit http://www.johnadams.co.uk/product/dinkee-linkee-for-kids/

Tipping Point

Tipping Point is a British television game show and now you can play the miniature Tipping Point machine for real! It is suitable for aged 10 and above, for three or teams. In this game, players compete in 2 rounds of questions to gain as many counters as possible. The winning team goes on to compete in the final end game to try and win the jackpot counter.

This interesting game comes with a table top electronic Tipping Point machine with moving base plate! It works similar to the TV show, except it is a really small machine. It requires two AA batteries which are not included. While setting up, we didn’t follow the exact placement of all the counters and placed them somewhat randomly which didn’t impact the game too much. The kids were just eager to play on the machine! They both love their 2p coin pushing machines at arcades and this electronic Tipping Point machine is just right up their street. We did have to turn off the machine during the questions as it was quite disrupting.

We find the questions a little too difficult for them to guess as this game is really meant for older children. Nevertheless we all had fun and will play it when we have guests over! For more information, please visit http://www.johnadams.co.uk/product/tipping-point/

Telestrations

Telestrations is a fast paced game of sketching and guessing. It is almost like the Chinese Whispers game but in this you simultaneously sketch, pass, guess and laugh to reveal hilarious and unpredictable outcomes from each player’s original word!

John Adams Ideal Game telestrations

This is suitable for four to eight players, for aged eight onwards. It comes with 100 cards (Over 1,100 words), 8 dry-wipe markers, 8 clean up cloths, 8 erasable sketch books, 60 second electronic timer and instructions.

There are not too many rules in this game except to keep having fun! You will be surprised at how everyone interprets each other’s drawings. We’ve had some hilarious moments! For more information, please visit http://www.johnadams.co.uk/product/telestrations/
