Having fun with Brainstorm Toys Mega Globe

18 August 2017 by Eileen

This summer holiday, we are having educational fun with this Brainstorm Toys Mega Globe! This is a 50 cm mega-sized inflatable political globe with colourful design. It also comes with a list of game tips, like catch Globe, Scavenger Hunt and World Alphabet, to give you some fun ideas to play.

Brainstorm Toys Mega Globe review

The globe comes deflated and was packed in a small box, which makes it very portable and easy to carry out. This globe, in fact, makes a great pool toy too as it is made from a thin PVC material. Not only you can play catch in the pool with it, you can also make it a fun and educational swimming session by naming the countries while playing.

To pump up the globe, I used a small hand pump to inflate it, which took roughly about 5 minutes! If you have a foot pump, it shouldn’t take too long to inflate it. Once it is fully inflated, it is ready to play. We were quite shocked that it was so huge but it is a good size for children to locate the countries more easily. This is especially so for Ms C, who requires large print due to her poor eyesight.

The countries are all in capital letters, which are easy to spot. But for younger children, they might struggle to read capital letters as they are unable to process capital letters as well as older children or adults, so you may need to help them to read some countries. Also, be aware that not all the small countries are printed on the globe.

We have just got back from our holiday and this is a great tool to show them the countries we visited. It was a shame that this didn’t come in time for us to take to Singapore and Japan, otherwise we would have had a lot of fun playing this in my sister’s pool. Nevertheless, I was able to show both of my children the countries we visited and also transited through.

This Brainstorm Toys Mega Globe also shows the lines of the International Date Line, equator, time zone, latitude and longitude. It is informative and great for children to have fun with. This can also be taken away for holiday to use in wet areas like swimming pools or the sea side. The quality materials should last a while and it is good value for money. It is available in good retailers and Amazon.

It’s so much fun to play with it. I think it’s a great toy and a nice way for kids to learn geography.
