LEGO The Batman Movie The Batmobile Review

19 March 2017 by Eileen

This Batmobile 70905 set is the 2017 model car for Batman, Bruce Wayne. This is his latest car a.k.a “The Speedwagon” that can transform into different types of vehicles to store in his Bat-garage. If you haven’t followed Lego Batman through the years, in fact, Lego Batman first launched the Batmobile in 2006 which was 11 years ago. Over the years, they have updated the Batmobile to the highest standard.

This set also comes with five mini-figures which includes Batman, his partner Robin, a pair of Kabuki Twins and Man-Bat. The mini-figure of Batman has a yellow utility belt accessory which makes him look so cool. He also has two Bat shaped weapons to go along with him. Meanwhile, Robin comes with his adorable bug-eyed glasses in his skimpy underpants and yellow cape. He has a Bat-Merch gun as his weapon.

Over to the bad guys, we have three mini-figures: a pair of Kabuki Twins and Man-Bat. Kabuki Twins both come in a red suit, with bright red lines and are equipped with claws. Man-Bat comes with awesome headgear and a pair of bat wings.

The set comes with two instruction booklets with 5 individual packets that are well labelled. The mini-figures are divided across each packet.

Mr K was very excited and he managed to build most of the sets by himself within two hours. He did need my help to check to make sure he got it right before he opened the next packets. There are some small stickers that go on The Batmobile. As usual, Mr K wanted me to help him to apply in case he got it wrong. I do find these odd-shaped small stickers can be quite tricky to apply.

The finished model looks stunning and great for playing. We are very well impressed with the Batmobile as it is able to transform into different types of vehicles. By rotating the wheels, you will be able to transform into a monster truck and submarine to move side to side.

We love all the details of the Batmobile especially the front of the engine and the oversized wheels to give it a wild look. The iconic features and shape of a classic Batmobile is still very much there with its Bat’s wings.

Besides transforming the Batmobile, you can twist the purple knob, which is located at the back of the exhaust pipe, to open the cockpit roof. You can sit both heroes in this vehicle. Next to the driver and passenger sides, there are two rockets which you can launch by pushing the trigger.

We love this Batmobile very much. Yet again, Lego has nailed it to create this stunning set with fantastic details that will provide many hours of fun to play and also to display. Mr K enjoyed building it too. It is a great way to get him off the electronics and encourage his creative, engineering side. I would definitely recommend it.
