How To Battle Winter Skin Care Problems?

How To Battle Winter Skin Care Problems?

One of the most sensitive parts of your body is your skin. During the different seasons of the year we take care of our bodies by wearing more clothes in the winter, suncream in the summer and raincoats in the autumn. But one part of our body we forget to look after is the skin.

In winter, the driest seasons of all, your skin might tend to feel dry, break out and not look to great. Moreover, snow also damages your skin very much, making it completely dry, dull, flaky, and sometimes even more reactive.

In this season, it is vital that you keep your skin moisturised.

How to battle Winter Skin Care Problems_

Here, we will give you some tips on how to take care of your skin throughout winter:

Use Lukewarm Water

Usually, in winters, it always feels good to have hot showers and baths due to the chilly winds and weather. But, whenever possible, use lukewarm water for washing your face or just hands. This will help you in maintaining the natural oils and not leave your hands feeling dry. Hot water takes away all the moisture from your body and makes it drier than usual.

Moisturise Immediately

It is important that you moisturise your skin immediately after showers and baths because when your body or skin is a little wet, it will absorb the moisturiser completely. The moisturiser will penetrate deep into your skin, making it soft and smooth.

If Things Are Really Bad…

If things get really bad in this season you can book in to have an acne treatment done with the laser treatment clinic. This means you can combat all those imperfections and blemishes that might be making you feel self-conscious.

Drink More Water

In winter, you tend to drink less water due to the increased consumption of hot beverages like tea, coffee, or cocoa. On the contrary, you should drink more water to keep yourself hydrated. Hydration is needed to keep your skin looking and feeling great all year round.

Be Careful While Choosing Products For Your Skin

Avoid those products that contain petroleum-based contents as they further dry your skin and take away your natural oils. Go for those products that contain oil-based ingredients and avoid those with water-based contents. The oil-based products will help you retain your natural oils and keep your skin glowing.

Protect Your Skin

The purpose behind wearing scarves and gloves is not just to bear the cold but also to protect your skin from getting dry and damaged. So, follow the winter traditions religiously with your clothing to prevent your skin from getting damaged. Moreover, it is a wrong belief that the winter sun is not harmful. On the contrary, it is as harmful as the summer sun. So, it is also important to protect your skin from the winter sun though it is just mild. For this, use a sunscreen on your skin to prevent it from getting damaged.

Exfoliate Your Skin

It is important that you remove your dead skin and the dead cells regualrly. So, it is important that you use exfoliating masks on your face, and hands which will remove the dead skin and will help your skin looking healthy.

Eat A Healthy Diet

It is quite important that you eat healthy which will ultimately reflect on your skin. So, eat all those seasonal veggies that are rich in proteins and vitamins which will, in turn, improve your skin internally as well externally.

All that is left to do now is work on your skin throughout the winter season!
