The AEG T88595IS Tumble Dryer is a ProTex Plus dryer enabling you to dry with the unique AbsoluteCareTM System and its Woolmark Blue certification. Another nice feature of the dryer is the ProSteam which makes use of steam technology to refresh and de-wrinkle all your clothes, even delicate and dry-clean-only garments.
This freestanding 60cm tumble dryer has a 9kg load capacity that will suit any busy family! With its big drum, it means fewer loads and less hassle. With its clever OptiSense, it saves time and energy and prevents over-drying by adjusting the cycle to the size of the load.
When it first arrived, it came in a well packed Styrofoam base which is very easy to remove by one person. I have made a video on how I removed and installed it into our conservatory. I also show you the different compartments of the dryer, the filter, water container, heat exchanger door, the control panel and how we use it.

It comes with a bottle of distilled water, water container, discharging kit and instructions. You have the option to switch the door handle the other way round to suit your needs if required. There are instructions provided to show you how to remove the door and install it. Also, instead of using the water container to collect the water, you could install the discharging kit to drain the water into a sink.
The dryer is 60 cm deep by 60 cm wide by 85 cm tall. It should fit nicely into a standard kitchen under-counter space. There is also an option to stack it on top of a washing machine. We don’t have space in the kitchen, hence it is in our conservatory for now.
I love the look of this dryer which comes with a stylish stainless control panel. It also has an internal light! Now we can easily see if we’ve left a sock behind, even in the dark! The LogiControl touch LCD is easy to understand and use. The wording/numbers are big and legible. The big grooved programme selection knob is easy to hold and can be turned in either direction. The labelling around the knob is big and legible. There is a delay start selection from 30 minutes to 20 hours. You can also do time selection from 10 minutes to 2 hours. It comes with a child lock by pressing the Dry Plus and Anti Crease button together for 8 seconds. This function will stop the child from changing the program but it does not lock the on/off button.
Whenever you turn on the machine, the default programme is the Cupboard Dry for cotton. There are three main programmes: Steam, Synthetics and Cotton.
You can use the Steam programmes on cotton and synthetic clothing or use it to refresh one piece of dry clothing. You will need to fill the water container with distilled water. At some occasions, you might not need to fill it. It is automatically filled it when you dry with the standard and steam programmes. In my video, I have shown you how I fill it. I do find it quite hard to fill it properly without spilling it everywhere.
I have used it to refresh my jacket that had absorbed various odours from cooking and deep fried food. There are three steam strengths to select: minimum, moderate and maximum. After steaming, my jacket feels slightly damp but with a much nicer smell than before. Then I hung it immediately to allow it to dry off and then it was ready to use.
For the Synthetics and Cotton programmes, there are options for you to select to dry bed linen, duvets, silk, wool and many more! At the moment I am just using the standard drying program as this is what we need for now. In the winter time, this will be a great use for our wool clothing and our duvet!
The unique AbsoluteCareTM System in this tumble dryer adjusts the drum rotation speed or direction as well as temperatures to tailor the drying process to different types of fabrics, allowing tumble drying of even very delicate items. It has HeatPump technology for a gentler low temperature drying which is very safe for anyone who wants to open the door to take any piece of clothing out or to add in more laundry. I like this feature especially when compared to my old dryer. My old dryer was very hot to touch and I had to wait for at least 3 minutes before I could open the door to add more laundry. With this technology, I would not be afraid of getting burned or having to wait to be able to open the door. The only concern is for families with younger children who might want to open it and not close it back! It means you might not get your clothing dry in time!
I enjoy using this dryer as it is great for families for all seasons. It can dry our delicates like our wool clothing and with its big drum, I can dry our duvets this winter! With the ProSteam feature, I can refresh any jackets or trousers whenever I need! It is simple to use and comes with great features which is versatile to suit everyone! It comes with a five year warranty. To find out more about this product, please go to http://www.aeg.co.uk/laundry/laundry/dryers/heat-pump-dryer/t88595is/ to read more about it.
