Panasonic Slow Juicer MJ-L500 Review

13 July 2016 by Eileen Leave a Comment

This Panasonic Slow Juicer allows you to have both fresh juice and frozen treats!  I love the dual functionality.  It comes with a food pusher, lid, squeezing screw, filter, rotating brush, juicing bowl, frozen attachment, motor housing, juice container, pulp container, cleaning brush and instructions.  Assembling all the parts together is straightforward.  There are arrows marked on the parts to show you which directions to insert it in.  However, the squeezing screw is not easy to remove from the unit and I have to wiggle it slightly to loosen it.

panasonic slow juicer MJ-L500In use, this Panasonic Slow Juicer is compact, quiet and very efficient.  I love that the motor itself is very heavy and the whole unit is stable on the table top.  It is so compact that it doesn’t take up much storage space.  Placing fruits into the juicer, I am delighted that it is not noisy at all.  You can continue your conversations with friends without needing to raise your voice.

I do find that the hole for the feeding tube hole is quite small, hence I have to cut all the fruits into small pieces.  There is only one button to operate which is the on/off button.  Holding down the off button also reverses the direction, in case your ingredients become jammed.  So far I have not had to use the button.

We all enjoy using the juicer, including the children. I have used it on carrots, cucumber, celery and many more fruits.  Each of these came out very clear and smooth.  It is very easy to drink.  The pulp that came out was very dry.

To make frozen treats, you need to swap to the frozen attachment which is very easy to swap over.  The frozen treats come out almost immediately and it is very smooth.  I am very pleased with the texture.

As for washing, it was quite tricky cleaning the mesh of all the fibrous pulp.  Using the supplied brush, I was able to clean it after some time and but I would recommend soaking it for a while to help soften and loosen any dried pulp.

Overall I am very pleased with it and would recommend it.  It is available to buy in good store and Amazon.
