This Meccano Monster 1200 S is from the construction range launched by Ducati and Meccano dedicated to the iconic Ducati bikes. This series created by Meccano which presents suspension with a coil spring, multi-piece wheels and a real steering column for an authentic riding experience on a small scale.
This is definitely a great set for this coming Father’s day! Mr C was thrilled when he saw this set and he couldn’t wait to build it together with Mr K to spend some father’s time with him.
This set is suitable for aged 10 and above. It says that this is an easy-to-build set comprising 292 parts, instructions and tools. However, judging on Mr C and Mr K’s experience, it was quite a challenge and it took them a few hours to complete. This was their first time building a Meccano set together. It required a lot of focus and concentration but they enjoyed the challenge and it was great to get some father and son time.
This set comes with a lot of individual packets which I have place into the paint pots to keep them separate and easy to find. The step by step instructions were very detailed and we love that the instructions shows the exact scale of the screws to be able to easily identify them.
From the handle to the staggered side exhaust, there is no detail that has been overlooked. Every detail has been carefully built to the exact design. During the build there are some intricate steps that require some perseverance but once it is built, the bike looks spectacular! This measures approximately 25 cm length by 12 cm height by 8 cm width. It comes with a stand for you to display your bike. I love all the intricate detail and design. I would definitely it to anyone who loves a good challenge and a great bike. You can buy it in good toy stores and Amazon.

This looks great and a good challenge for an older child.
We haven’t tried Meccano with Little Mr A yet but I think it’s something he would love doing with his dad
