Vionic Shoe Review

13 March 2016 by Eileen

Last month, I was invited to Vionic Shoe event for a lovely lunch at the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse in Birmingham. This was the first time I’d heard of this shoe brand – Vionic, and they have just been around in the UK for around a year in Shuropody and other shoe retailers. They are a very well established leading global maker of consumer and medical footwear. Now they are branching out to Europe. Their shoe is not only make your feet feel great but the shoes look great too!

Their Vasyli Medical products and innovation are at the core of the technology they bring to their consumer brand – Vionic. They offer sandals, shoes and slippers in streamlined silhouettes which feature their concealed podiatrist-designed technology. These are the few Spring/Summer 2016 range that will be in store soon. They all look so stylish, lightweight and comfortable! I love their bold colour and ranges of sandals.

As you can see in this picture of the sole which is their innovative FMT technology that helps reduce over-pronation, which can in turn improve foot function and relieve common associated pains such as plantar fasciitis (heel pain), knee pain and back pain. It is the only footwear recommended by both the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and renowned integrative medicine doctor, Andrew Weil, MD.

I was given two pairs of size 8 shoes for me to bring home to try out. I have wide and flat feet which makes walking uncomfortable. My feet always ache after 5 minutes of walking. After trying out their iconic Islander sandals for three weeks at home, I have found some relief of pain while using it at home. It did take me one week to get use to the shape of the sole but now I feel a massive difference wearing it compared with my normal shoes. It does give me enough support to raise my sole to correct my posture. This is a Podiatrist-designed, biomechanical Tri-planar Motion Control footbed with a deep heel cup helps stabilize, support and realign the feet back to their natural position. The sandal’s upper straps are made from leather and the outside is made from durable rubber. I am very much enjoying walking around my house and doing my housework in them. These come in a choice of 10 colours and ranges from sizes 3 to 9. They are very affordable sandal which I would definitely recommend them.

Next I have also been testing their Venture Walker range at home. They are made of lightweight durable mesh with man-made overlays that give the Venture Walker a sporty look while promoting breathability and comfort for confidence with each step. These comes in a choice of eight colours and ranges from sizes 3 to 9 and some half sizes too. They might look sporty, but they are meant for walking rather than for sport. The sole is removable and it give me plenty of support while walking. The materials feel soft and comfortable. The only downside is that they are not waterproof. So I only tend to wear them when the ground is dry.

Now I will definitely wear these shoes more often to give my feet better support. I love this FMT technology. Did you know that you can buy their Full Orthotic pads to insert into your shoes to give you the support and make full use of your existing shoes?

Or if you due to change your shoes, why not use this 30% off code for the entire range until 30th April 2016! To redeem your discount, use VIONIC30. Give them a try and see yourself, you will love it!

Disclosure: I was invited to the event but not asked to blog about the event.
