The Entertainer Open in Lichfield

28 February 2016 by Eileen

Yesterday, we saw an exciting shop (The Entertainer) opening in our city of Lichfield. This is probably one of my children’s favourite stores and now I have something to tempt them to pop to the shops with me.

The entertainer lichfield store

Since the closure of ELC and a family run toy store, Lichfield had become less exciting for kids. Now we have a nice range of stores including a flagship Debenhams, a few well-known coffee shops, plenty of pubs, budget price stores and with this toy store, it definitely adds a bit more life into the high street.

The Entertainer takes over the former Sports Direct Store in the Three Spires Shopping Centre with 3,700 sq feet store in Bakers Lane, which stocks kids’ favourites including Star Wars, Lego and Disney through to board games plus arts and crafts.

At the opening, there was a charity trolley dash at 8.15am and £300 worth of toys were bagged for St. Giles hospice. We missed the dash but got there in time when the store officially opened at 9am. We were the first few customers who arrived early and bagged ourselves a £5 gift card! The Lichfield mayor and town crier were also there for the opening too.

Both of my children were very excited and were eager to check out all the toys. Mr K and Ms C both had a go on the remote control car and then we made our way through the store looking for toys.

The store was very well stocked with constructions toys, dolls, Disney toys and many more! If you spend over £10 on LEGO, you will receive a LEGO goody bag. I had set each child a budget and they managed to get their favourite toys. Mr K went for Nerf sling striker as he loves his actions toys. Ms C went for her favourite My Little Pony toy as usual. We also received an Entertainer £1 goody bag for each kid on each purchase (this offer might have ended by now).

Later at 10am, there was an appearance by LEGO character Lloyd Garmadon, face painters, balloon modellers and giveaways. This definitely brings a lot of joy to all the children’s faces! But do remember they close every Sunday as they value it as a family day!

So if you need to get a toy as a gift or for whatever reason, do pop down to the store!
