Judge Classic Cookware Review

14 December 2015 by Eileen

Judge’s new Classic cookware collection have the hard-wearing resilience of traditional cookware with cutting edge non-stick, to produce the ultimate cooking experience and pans that will last a lifetime.

Many years ago when I first came to the UK, all the pots that I bought were all Teflon coated as it make it easy to clean and cook. But after I had watched a BBC Watchdog and other gadget shows, I realised that the Teflon coating does not provide any more protection when there is a scratch. In fact, it could be harmful to your body when the chemical reaction releases into your food.

Since then, whenever I have needed to replace my pots, I have chosen to buy a stainless steel pots with glass lids. My first pot with a glass lid was a revelation and I’ve never looked back – it gives you more control as you can just peep at the ingredients instead of lifting the lid to check on it.

Recently I have received these two Classic cookware from Judge: 20cm saucepan and 24 cm Casserole pot. Did you know that all items in the Judge Classic collection including Pans, Fry Pans, Sauté Pans and Casserole are oven safe, dishwasher safe, and come with a Judge 25 year guarantee? Depending on the recipe, sometimes I will cook the food on the hob and then finish it off in the oven so it is handy to know that I can pop it straight in.

This Classic collection has been created with thick forged bases, making the pans suitable for use on all hob types including induction while providing a high degree of thermal efficiency.

This is made from low-maintenance mirror-polished stainless steel and comes with a toughened vented glass lid. This is a nice size (2.5 litre) for a family of four. I use it to cook all sorts, from noodles to soups, and many more. It comes with a smart stay cool, ergonomic handle that is denoted by the sensuous curves and elegant styling. This has a nice weight to it but it’s not overly heavy. The pot is easy to clean and on the inside of the pot it has an internal capacity guide.

This is also made from low-maintenance mirror-polished stainless steel and comes with a toughened vented glass lid. There are two handles on the side which makes it easy to pick up. This might look huge but it is the right size for a family of four. I am able to cook eight portions with this (we will often cook extra for an extra portion later). Occasionally the food sticks to the bottom of the pot but after ten minutes of soaking, it is easy to clean with a scourer. Even after scrubbing it with a scourer, the base of the pot still looks very new. It comes an internal capacity guide on the side which is very visible and useful.

Overall I love the quality and the weight of these pots. They are very durable and well made. I would recommend them and the overall prices are very reasonable.

They are available to buy from your local kitchen stores, Harts of Stur or Amazon. Here are the Classic collections available from Amazon:
