Star Wars Reads Day with Egmont

10 October 2015 by Eileen

Today, 10th October 2015, we are celebrating the Star Wars Reads Day which is being celebrated all over the world! Since 2012, Star Wars Reads Day is all about celebrating two of our favourite things: the Star Wars galaxy and reading.

Many book stores, libraries, and retailers will participate in the fourth annual instalment of the global event, featuring signings, parties, and more. Last year, the events took place all over the world, and this year Star Wars Reads Day is expected to grow even bigger as fans gear up for the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in December. We are so looking forward to watching it!

Participants in the events and festivities include: Disney-Lucasfilm Press, Marvel, Abrams, Chronicle, Del Rey, DK, Quirk Books, Scholastic, Workman, Egmont, Studio Fun, Phoenix International Publishing, and many more. If you want to find out more about the events or share your passion do remember to use hashtag #StarWarsReadsDayUK

We were fortunate to receive these three awesome Star Wars books from Egmont. They are Where’s the Wookiee, Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back Activity Book and Star Wars Doodles.

star wars where is the wookiee

Where’s the Wookiee is a hardcover book with 40 pages. There’s a lot going on on each page and you have to find where the wookiee is hiding. It kept Mr K occupied for some time and he enjoyed searching and has learnt the place names in the book!

Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back Activity Book is a paperback book with 48 pages. Each page is filled with different activities like spot the difference, colouring, decode and many more. It also comes with stickers for you to stick your favourite characters.

Star Wars Doodles is a paperback book with 128 pages. This is quite an interesting and fun book aimed at older children to follow the story and draw their favourite Star Wars characters. It encourages the individual to be creative to bring these sensational scenes to life!
