Teksta Scorpion Review

20 September 2015 by Eileen

If you like remote control robots and insects, you will definitely like Teksta Scorpion! This is an awesome wireless interactive robotic toy! Both of my children were thrilled and can’t wait to get another scorpion to join in the battle!

Inside the box, it comes with a life-like scorpion, controller strap, target and instructions. It requires 4 x AA for the scorpion and 2 x AAA for the controller strap. It is suitable for ages 5 and above.

There are two ways of wearing the controller. You can either put the controller on the top of your hand and strap it onto your hand or you can simply hold it on your palm. My children find that strapping on their hands are much easier to control while I prefer to hold the controller. The controller is lightweight and comfortable to hold. The strap was just perfect for my daughter and it has a soft feel and is easy to wear.

Every time you turn on the scorpion or controller, you need to set the frequency.  This is easier than it may sound though that even a young child could set it.

I was slightly disappointed with the scorpion’s feet as one of them has dropped off before we took it out of the box. I did try to fix it back in but it still keeps coming off.

Once it is calibrated, there’s no lag and the scorpion will begin to move on your movement. I am very impressed with the motion control technology as it picks up every little change in direction we make. It is responsive and moves precisely according to our action.  Both children enjoyed moving the scorpion around.

The scorpion moves slowly and works better on tiles/wood floor. It still works on carpet but moves more slowly and often gets stuck if there is a grove. I would expect a lot of children would love this toy as it is interactive and get run to play with. The Teksta Scorpion is available to buy from Character Online, good retailers and Amazon.
