Orchard Toys Shopping List Review

24 September 2015 by Eileen 6 Comments

Did you know that Orchard Toys have just released an updated version of Shopping List and its additional extras packs?  This classic game has topped their sales list for over ten years and is their best-selling game of all time.

orchard toys shopping list reviewThe objective of the game is to be the first player to fill a trolley with the items on their shopping list. This game is suitable for aged 3 to 7 and played with 2 to 4 players. Inside this box, it comes with:

  • 2 shopping trolleys
  • 2 shopping baskets
  • 4 shopping lists
  • 32 item cards
  • Instructions

The cards are made from thick recycled cardboard, are easy to hold, have smooth edges and are bright and colourful.  The shopping lists are easy to read and comes with pictures on the side to help younger children.

If the item on the card is shown on the player’s shopping list, the player puts the card in their trolley.  If the card is not on the player’s shopping list, it must be returned to the table, face downwards.  This is a fun memory game which also encourages observation.  Ms C and I both failed miserably as we didn’t observe carefully enough.  It has been a while since we played a memory game!  It was great fun with so many laughs!

Disclosure: I received this book from the publisher for free. However, they have not paid me for this review, and they do not exercise any editorial control over my review or anything else on this site.
