TabZoo Review

16 August 2015 by Eileen

More and more children own a tablet either for gaming or communicating. As a parent and gadget lover, I have always used a tablet cover to protect our iPad as we all know what children are like! They either will drop it or completely lose it!

Recently, I discovered TabZoo via Twitter. TabZoo is a fun, animal themed tablet case range specifically aimed at children. Lazerbuilt, the company behind TabZoo, is taking the range to the next level by launching a selection of folio style covers that work with newly developed MyPal app (Free to download on iOS and Android) for an animated case with moving eyes and animal sounds.

tabzoo 10 inch folio tablet review

There are 5 animal designs in the new range: tiger, plush monkey, plush cat, plush dog and plush lion app folio. We have the tiger for Mr K and plush cat for Ms C. The plush cat app folio is furry and comes with two furry ears that can be folded. Both of the products come with wrist straps to make it easier and more secure to carry your tablet. It folds easily into a stand, making it a cinch to read, watch films or play games. The tablet is secured by four elastic bands over it. So far, the elastic bands are holding the iPad securely.

To bring the cover to life, download the free app, select the animal character and align the eyes, then the cover becomes the creature! Even though you can’t control the volume of the creature, the volume of the creatures are very gentle and soft.

I like the whole idea of this TabZoo cover. It make it fun for younger children. I do hope that in future they will expand more games on the app as at the moment, you can only play with the eyes. Also if your children love to take photos using their tablet, then this is not suitable as there is no hole for the back camera. They could probably use the TabZoo sleeves instead.

We have made a video on the TabZoo, do check it out: https://youtu.be/jojT0KXdNLk

The products are available on Amazon, Staples, Argos and later in the year it will be in Dixons. The RRPs are £19.99 for 7-8 inch and £24.99 for 9-10 inch and the MyPal App is free to download.

Sounds like a fun idea but I think you are right, for the price it needs to have more interaction. I am sure my two would love it nonetheless!
