In our summer activities A – Z letter L, we did two craft posts which is the egg box lion and egg box lion mask. This is how we did it. I had a few half dozen cardboard egg boxes laying around for a weeks which came in handy for this craft.
To make this Egg Box Lion, you will need:
- Egg box
- Scissors (straight and zigzag)
- Orange/yellow paint with brush
- Yellow and orange paper
- Pencil
- Black marker pen
- Glue
Methods:
- To make the body, cut out the egg cartons and paint it.
- To make the hair, draw a 5 cm diameter circle on the orange paper and use the zig zag scissor to cut around it.
- To make the face, draw a 4 cm diameter circle on the yellow paper and two round/pointy ears. Cut it out and use black pen to draw the features.
- Paste the face onto the orange hair.
- Once the body is dried, stick the head on it.
We also made a peppa pig nose using egg carton, have you seen it yet?
Next, we use the other side of the egg carton to make an egg box lion mask out of it.
You will need:
- Egg box
- Scissors (straight and zigzag) and pen knife
- Black and orange paper
- Pencil
- Black marker pen
- Glue
- String
Methods:
- Cut two holes on the egg carton for the egg.
- Use the black paper to cut into a nose and whiskers. Glue them on the egg carton.
- Draw a big circle on the orange paper and use the zigzag scissor to cut around it. Cut a hole to fit into the egg carton.
- Make one hole at each side of the egg carton and thread in the string.
If you prefer, you could paint the egg carton before you stick the nose and whiskers.
Hope you enjoy these two lion crafts.
These are great and that mask looks fun, yet easy to make!
