Philips Marvel Spider-Man Table Light Review

17 June 2014 by Eileen

Philips has created a range of lighting that brings children’s imaginations to life as they play and makes them feel safe as they sleep. From projectors to wall lights to flash lights with a range of Disney and Marvel themes like Monsters, Spider-Man, Princesses, Cars etc.

Mr K is a massive fan of Marvel comics and we had recently decorated his room with Dulux Marvel wallpaper. This Philips Marvel Spider-Man table lamp had come at the right time to add ambiance and adventure.

Inside the box, it come with four pieces for assembly. It took me at least 10 minutes to figure out how to fix the table lamp shade properly. As the lamp shade is not easy to shape into a circle/ring, I had to pin it down on the table and tried to hook it with the stand. Once the lamp shade is clipped onto the stand, the next step is to place the base. Ours came with a two pin plug and a UK adaptor plug is included.

I love the child-safe design. It comes with a cool-touch soft LED light to comfort him throughout the night. After reviewing the box and instructions, we couldn’t tell whether the LED light is changeable.

It also has a switch on wire but I find it too short for my liking. Each time Mr K went to switch it on/off, the whole table lamp moves. It is also not helped that the table lamp is so light.

This table lamp definitely adds a wow factor in his bedroom and with his display of heroes next to his bed, Mr K is over the moon. The lighting is great and not too dark in his bedroom. It measures 23.7 cm height by 18.7 cm width which is just a good size for any side table.

This range is very new to the UK market. If this interests you, they are currently available to buy from the Philips online store: http://www.philips.co.uk

Shame about the length of the cable and perhaps a weighty base is needed , otherwise a nice nice looking lamp

Mister B would love this, his idol is Spiderman at the moment and he loves anything with it on, he also needs something that will glow through the night as he hates having the light off.

That looks like a great idea. I like the child friendly aspect, really need to get Monkey something when we sort his room out. Shame about the length of the cable though – that could be a bit of a nuisance.

This looks great. We will be decorating our son’s room with a Marvel theme when we move so something like this would be perfect!
