FIFA World Cup #BigMatchPlanner

12 June 2014 by Eileen

I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser.

Today is the FIFA World Cup! Mr C is so excited as he can watch hours and hours of football. Well, it is once every four years! This coming Sunday, we are hosting a Bird Eye Fish Finger party by Come Round. I love planning parties and have hosted many. I am no expert though!

Last week, we went to Tesco for our normal grocery shop and to buy some drinks for the World Cup! It is always very scary bringing Ms C and Mr K along! They were happily grabbing all sorts of snacks and chocolate! At the end of the shop, my basket is always full of junk food!

Later, we went to the drinks aisle to grab this Coca-Cola 1.5 L 4 pack promotional Coke Zero. Such a great price! They are only £4 per pack and will be on sale in Tesco until 17th June. Grab them while you can!

Whenever I think of planning a party, I always look at Pinterest for inspiration and ideas. I have created my World Cup Party Ideas.  Do take a peek at what I have found! http://www.pinterest.com/etspeaksfrom/world-cup-party-ideas

I am not an expert but these are my tips on how to plan a World Cup party!

  1. Location, location, location

It is Summer time! Why not move everyone to the garden! Bring your television and get the party started!

  1. Invitation

Once you set a date, time and guest list, it is time for you to send out your invite. Normally I will send a text/SMS to save money, or I may make my own invite and print it out.

  1. Budget

Always set yourself a budget to avoid overspending. No budget? Why not ask a few mates to bring along food and drink!

  1. Music

Not when the football is on! Maybe put on this years official theme: We Are One (Ole Ola) and cheer along.

  1. Decoration

Need inspiration? Supporting England?

Why not take a look at this blog post? I had made three simple football theme crafts with my children. We used paper plates to make this World Cup Football Paper Plate banner, you can download the Pentagon template I made. World Cup 2014 Football Print Black and World Cup 2014 Football Print White.

We also made this beautiful England Straw Flag and England Topper/Toothpick using Duck Tape!

Don’t forget to reuse your plastic bottles! I made this Coca-Cola Fairy Light Bottles by upcycling them! Click to read the step by step.

We also made a World Cup 2014 trophy! Click here to learn how we made it!

  1. Party Food

Do check out my Pinterest board for food ideas. Or bake a Coke chocolate cake, Ham roasted in Coke or check out my blogger party for more ideas which I hosted last year.

  1. Drink

Have you checked out this cool way of Coca-Cola slushy in 3 seconds? Just simple freeze a bottle of Coca-cola for 3 hours and pop them into a cup! Check out this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T68TvdoSbI

Or add a bit of zing into the coca-cola! Slice a few lemon and limes, pop them in the mason jars and serve cold!

  1. Games

What about apple bobbing in Coke, piñata or drawings? This will help keep the little ones entertained while the parents watch the footie!

So are you planning any World Cup parties? Hope this gives you some inspiration to organise one! #CollectiveBias #BigMatchPlanner

I do love your World Cup craft ideas! The football is on so late this time around, you definitely need to have a party before it starts!

Some great crafty ideas – and I love that slushy vid too – such a simple but effective idea.
