Alpha and Omega 3 – The Great Wolf Games is the new American computer-animated comedy/adventure film. This is the third film in the series and was released on 14th April 2014 just in time for Easter.
We are fortunate to get a copy of the DVD to watch while both children are still off school. This is a 43 minute film which comes with two special features: Great Games Amazing Maze and Wolf Fun Facts Trivia.
In the second film, they had introduced Kate and Humphrey’s offspring – Stinky, Claudette and Runt. This third film is all about them learning to navigate their own alpha and omega friendships. For those like us who had not watched the first and second films, this third film is not hard to follow. There were just a couple of mentions about their cubs’ parents’ history.
Description:
Join the pack in this wild, warm-hearted and totally pawsome adventure starring everyone’s favourite alphas and omegas. It’s time for “The Great Wolf Games,” when all the alphas in the packs set aside their differences for some friendly competition. When an unexpected accident puts many of our pack’s star alpha wolves out of commission, a new team is assembled that includes forest friends not in the pack. Can Coach Humphrey lead his ragtag group of “underdogs” to victory? Find out in this thrilling movie that will leave you howling for more.
This film is all about sportsmanship, friendship and sexual equality. It was hilarious to watch the cubs and their forest friends training for The Great Wolf Games. I love that this film sends out positive messages like fair play and good sportsmanship.
My daughter totally loves this film and she would love to watch it again. Overall, it is a great short film for younger children. I am slightly disappointed with the graphics of the animation compared with other animated movie studios but I guess the big film studios have much bigger budgets to play with.
Do look out for their fourth film, Alpha and Omega 4: The Legend of the Saw-Toothed Cave, which will be released in October 2014.
