Bandai Power Rangers Megaforce Deluxe Morpher

6 March 2014 by Eileen

My son is a massive fan of Power Rangers and he has toys from various sets: Power Rangers Samurai; Power Rangers RPM and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Now Bandai has bought out exciting new additions to the Power Rangers Megaforce range to coincide with the TV series now on air on Channel 5.  Each toy comes with a unique card to use with the Deluxe Morpher and app.

Bandai Power Rangers Megaforce Deluxe Morpher

We have received this Deluxe Morpher.  It is a card scanner.  Inside the box, it comes with the scanner, a clip, 10 cards and two AAA batteries.  On the back of the scanner, there are three functions: ON, Try Me and TCG.  The TCG function requires the combined use of the game mat and trading cards.  We didn’t have that to try out.

The scanner is very straight forward to use.  Simply place the card into the slot.  Once the slot is closed, it will light up and say a variety of phrases.  There are over 180 phrases and not every card unlocks a unique phrase.  There will be new cards release each season.

This scanner can be clipped on a belt like how Mr K is wearing it.  There is also a free app to download from iTunes or Android smartphones.  We downloaded the app but this is definitely a work-in-progress.  It took a while for the app to start and some days, the app won’t work at all.  The app basically have two functions.  One is to play matching the cards in the same row and another function is to scan the card and it will show you a short video clip of the Power Rangers.  Hopefully they are working on this and will bring out an update soon for a more polished product.  Overall this is a nice little gadget for younger children to carry around to show off to their friends.

Power Rangers Megaforce is available now from Amazon, Argos, ASDA, The Entertainer, Sainsbury’s, Smyths Toys Superstores, Tesco, Toymaster, Toys R Us and all good toy stores.  http://www.bandai.co.uk/

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own

Mr K looks so pleased with himself wearing that, it looks like a fun toy for young boys and hopefully even better once the app is fully working.
