Bandai Locksies Fashion On-The-Go Girl

5 March 2014 by Eileen

Bandai has launched a range of small fashion dolls, Locksies with Style Lock™ technology.  It is a new girls’ brand inspired by the award winning range Harumika.  It provide girls of aged five to nine with a unique way to be a designer.  There are four Locksies girls to collect: Elli is an Interior Design expert, Kari is a DIY guru, Mikki specializes in Fashion Design and Rikki is into Hair & Make-Up.

We have received Fashion On-The-Go Girl – Rikki.  It come with Rikki, a suitcase, four pieces of fabric, two trims, a sticker sheet, a pair of shoes and a transforming accessory.

Bandai Locksies Fashion On-The-Go Girl review

My four year old absolute loves it but she requires plenty of my help to style the doll.  As the doll is quite small (about 16 cm from head to toe), I find it quite fiddly to push in the fabric into the lock feature.  Ms C does love changing Rikki’s clothing.  So I had cut out a few fabrics to help her to change the designs.  I like that you use any old fabric to style the doll.  As the dolls are quite small, it does not required plenty of fabric.  The features on the doll are well printed and both upper limbs and head are able to move 360 degree.  They are easy to hold and play with!  A downside of this set is that the shoes are not very tight so they often drop off while Ms C is playing with it.

The RRP of Locksies Fashion On-The-Go Girl is £14.99 which is quite reasonable especially as you can get your own fabrics to style your own doll.

Looks cute – I was a big doll fan so would have loved these! Shame about the little problems but I am sure it will still appeal to lots of little girls.

I saw these at Toy Fair and really liked them. They are exactly the sort of thing I would have loved as a child!
