The Trash Pack: Trash Wheels Junk Yard Review

11 February 2014 by Eileen

Mr K had recently reviewed the Trash Pack Series 5 and now they have a brand new Trash Packs range. Have a ‘wheely’ gross time racing these Trash Wheels vehicles around the garbage yard!

Trash Wheel Junk Yard

There are over 83 cars to collect in the form of 6 Gruesome teams: the Muck Trucks, Litter Buggies, Skid Marks, Army Junk, Take Aways and Rust Busters!

This beautifully designed junk yard is the only place to wreck and repair the Trash Wheels. This set can also be connected with the Fast Food Burger Flip Out and Gas N Go play sets to create your own exciting Trash Town!

This Junk Yard set, it includes:

  • Play set
  • Two Exclusive Trash Wheels vehicles
  • Collector’s Guide

It is suitable for 5 years old and upwards which feels about right. Each Trash Wheels vehicle is very small and soft so they are not suitable for younger children.

Assembling the play set is very straightforward and required minimum of fixing. Once fixed, the attachments do not come off easily. In the set, you can use the crane to pick up a car and drop them in any direction you want. You can drop the car in the junk compactor and see the crushed vehicle ejected out from the recycle bin.

To stop vehicles passing through the crane, simple lift up the bridge. Or you can burst them through the gate into the scrap yard.

To launch the vehicle, press the Furnace Launch button and see the vehicle escape around the U-bend road. Sometimes, we find it hard to launch the car fully but it does launch to a good distance on numerous occasion.

Each vehicle has their own unique look and are well made. The material is soft to touch and it is quite comfortable to hold them to move around the junk yard.

Mr K and Ms C both happily played with the set and these are Mr K’s thoughts: https://youtu.be/ToiUUQ4jSAo

This is a very nice play set and loved by both children. The play set did not take up too much of room and they had a lot of fun with it. The play set is well made and the junk yard is well laid out. I was surprised that Ms C is keen on playing with it and then I realised she got the pink exclusive breakdown truck to play with! This definitely appeals to girls too!

the green track on the left was missing the flat extensions to have it connect to the main center. Don’t know if this is just a defect on our purchase or if that is a problem for all. Yours looks connected . Going back to Toys R Us to exchange 🙁

It must be! Mine does come with the centre green connector which we have to connect it up.

This looks like fun, I saw the new Trash Pack range at Toy Fair and I can imagine it will be very popular.

I normally didn’t like the trash pack items I’ve seen but this one actually looks quite good – not too gross, and my kids all love vehicles and tracks and that kind of thing, so they would like it!
