Jakks Pacific Smurfs 2 launch party at Odeon

9 August 2013 by Eileen

Last Sunday, we were fortunate to get invited to watch The Smurf 2 at Odeon together with Anna Marikar  (click here to read her post) and Blue Bear Wood. When I was young, I loved watching Smurfs cartoons with my sister and she had a huge collection of Smurfs figurines. Shame that my mother threw them away when we moved house. How I wish I could pass it on to my children as Ms C has fallen in love with the latest Jakks Pacific Smurf-tastic toys!

Jakks Pacific Smurfs 2 launch party at Odeon

Jakks Pacific has launched the new collectable Grab ‘Em Single packs; Mushroom house Play Sets and a 7.5″ Fashion Doll. They are all available from leading toy retailers nationwide this summer, find out more about Jakks Smurfs toy range at www.jakks.com. We were given the two new Naughties 2.75″ figurine: Vexy and Hackus in our goodies bags!

The Smurfs 2 is the sequel to The Smurfs. The evil wizard Gargamel creates two Naughties that he hopes will let him harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence. But when he discovers that only a real Smurf can give him what he wants, he kidnaps Smurfette to get the secret spell.

Both of my children surprisingly sat quietly throughout the whole show watching it while having popcorn and their drinks. This is a mix of live action and animation that is suitable for all the family to watch. Before this movie, my children had not seen Smurfs before, so it took them a while to understand what had happened. I should have really explained to them beforehand. Overall they both enjoyed the show and are keen to watch the first movie too.

After the movie, the children were divided into four groups for the children’s activities. Firstly, we had our photo taken with Smurfette, next they made a magic spell to get the Smurf-essence.  They were all amazed that the water turned red, yellow and blue! In fact, a drop of colouring had been added inside the vase before the show. This was followed by a visit to Smurfs’ village looking through the showcase and finished by playing hide and seek to look for Smurfs. I would love to thank all the lovely staff for putting together such a great event!

Disclosure: We were invited to attend this event for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
