Baking with Pyrex Flexi Twist Mould

August 13, 2013 by Eileen 3 Comments

We have been super active this Summer school holiday.  Not only have we been out and about to many fantastic places, we have also come up with activities to do at home including baking!  Both my children love to help and bake so it is great spending time with them teaching them a life skill.
Today, our relatives came and Mr K offered to bake a cake for our guests.  His lovely aunty helped him along.  I won’t bore you with how we bake the cake.  It is quite easy to get recipes or pre-mix if you don’t fancy buying your own ingredients.  Do take a look at Pyrex Moist Apple Cake for an example of a recipe.  +The Brick Castle baked this and her cake looks so delicious!
We were given a flexi twist for kids bakeware: numbers and circus moulds to do this review.  I love the quality of the moulds.  They are made from thick yet flexible silicon.  They feel very durable and very easy to ‘demould’ after resting for 5 minutes.  The colours of the moulds are bright and very attractive.
I was very impressed with all the moulds.  The cakes popped out easily and have a smooth silky look.  The number mould is great for sharing as it is very easy to cut the numbers out and everyone gets to pick their favourite numbers.  It would be great for a children’s party!
Cleaning the circus mould is easy as the cake crumbs come off the surface easily.  The only trouble I had was with the number mould, where I had to use the sponge to clean the corner/gaps of the numbers.  They are oven proof up to 240 degree, microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe.
I rate this 5 stars out of 5.  I would highly recommend them to anyone and you won’t be disappointed with the quality of the silicon.  I personally like silicon baking trays as they are easy to clean and you won’t need to use much oil to grease the tray itself.  Besides the two moulds above, they also come in Happy Birthday, Numbers Tray and Circus Tray moulds.
Love to bake?  Get involved with the National Baking Week this 14th – 20th October 2013!
