This is our 4th year attending Low Noise Fireworks organised by Saxon Hill School, the emphasis being completely visual with the noise reduced to a minimum.
Each year that we have attended, the weather has always rained and this year unfortunately was no different. When we reached the school, we were greeted by the ushers who directed us to the car park. The entrance fee has always been very affordable. Usually, the ticket price includes a glow stick but this year we had to pay 50p for each.
While we waited for the display, we had a walk around the school compound. There were side stalls, face painting at the Lichfield Scrap Barn, hot food and drinks, games and rides. Each ride or game is about £1.50. This is Ms C’s favourite ride and I am holding my favourite candy floss!
Around 7pm the floodlights were switched off signalling the start of the show. The whole firework display lasts about 10 minutes and included a wide variety of fireworks. Both of my children enjoyed the displayed as the noise level was acceptable. I would highly recommend this event when you have younger babies or children who may get scared of loud noises. Next time, I will need to remember to take a raincoat, torch and get my children to wear a high visibility vest. It was very dark in some places.
