Grandpa in my pocket DVD Review

14 November 2012 by Eileen

As mentioned in our previous post for Mister Maker DVD‘s review, we are big fans of the Cbeebies channel.  My children, especially Mr K, loves to watch Grandpa In My Pocket whenever it is on and he will always record it.  However, now both of my children are in school full time, they miss at lot of their favourite shows.

We were therefore delighted to learn that there is a new Grandpa In My Pocket DVD – Abbey Home Media. The DVD was released on 5th November 2012.

Grandpa in my pocket DVD Review

There are five fun episodes from the BBC children’s comedy drama, following the adventures of Grandpa (James Bolam) and his magical shrinking cap, which only his grandson, Jason (Jay Ruckley), knows about.  When he puts the cap on, Grandpa shrinks and comic mayhem inevitably ensues – but Grandpa and Jason always manage to save the day somehow.

The episodes comprise:

  • Lighthouse View As Good As New
  • A Captain Dumbletwit Box of Tricks
  • Mr Mentor’s Marvelicious Inventing Club
  • More Than a Biscuit For Mrs McWhiskit
  • No Mention of An Invention

These five episodes were from Grandpa In My Pocket Series 3 shown in February 2011 which is no longer on BBC iPlayer. If your children like the show, you can get the DVD in store or online now. I rate this DVD 5 stars out of 5. It was great to watch together especially when the weather is cold and miserable outside! It is also useful for car journey if you have a in-car DVD player!

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own. Image used with permission.
