Weekend is always my day off from cooking and if we are not going out for dinner, it would be takeaway. Recently, Anna from intheplayroom introduce me to this new website called takeaway.com. You can read her review about her Afghanistan takeaway.
Simply go to the takeaway website and enter your postcode. It will provide you a list of different types of cuisine (Indian, Grill, Asian, Mediterranean and other) and your nearest takeaways. There are so many to choose from but it is dependent on the area you live in too.
There are only 5 restaurants available in our area, and it will show you the most popular choices and remind you if you have ordered from any of these before. We were slightly disappointed with the choices (only Indian food) but again our town is quite small and there are not many takeaways around our area.
It is our first time ordering from Raj Duth. We had the Raj Duth Special Biryani, Chicken Bhuna and Chicken mango curry. Mr C decided boil some rice and so we didn’t order any. Three dishes came up to £24.40. As a first time user, I had to log in my details and set up a new account. It takes online payments (with a 50p transaction fee) or cash on delivery.
I set the time for delivery as soon as possible when I ordered it at 5.10pm. The food turned up just before 6pm. Everything went very smoothly.
As mentioned, this is our first time trying out the food. Our thoughts are that the food is average compared to our usual Indian takeaway. The food portion is good but the packaging is not great. I would prefer them using a plastic container than those aluminium foil tray as some of the curry sauces had spilt out of the trays. There was oil inside the carrier bag and subsequently on our table. Overall though, the food experience is good.
I’m really pleased with my first experience of ordering on takeaway.com. It is simple to order and great that you have many takeaway choices on one website. The prices are up-to-date too, so no more scrambling around for a few extra pounds when you discover that your menu is out of date.
I would recommended takeaway.com for ease and convenience. You can even order while you are on your way home from anywhere, provided you have internet. It is a good website for the local takeaways!

The portion sizes do look good. We often have Indian takeaways delivered in foil trays rather than plastic.
