Drastic Plastic and Troublesome Trash is part of a new series on big global issues that affect every child such as global warming, wildlife in danger, immigration and changing borders, keeping healthy and the advancing technologies. This book is packed with astonishing facts, plenty of hands-on activities, fun illustrations and dramatic photographs.
I love that Mr K is keen to find out how rubbish affects so many lives and how he can learn through this book to help himself and others. He finds it enlightening and hopefully, it will also enlighten other young child’s minds. It covers topics on plastic, glass, paper, metal, cloth and food.
Through this book, it shows us the mysterious world of recycling in contemporary illustrations, discovering how materials such as plastic, glass, paper and electronics are made and recycled. I love that the author makes it so simple for a child to understand and explains how it works through illustration.
It also looks at the many ways we can help to reduce the amount of waste we throw out, has suggestions and activities for upcycling and explains how recycling is crucial to preserving the beautiful and life-sustaining world we live in.
Also at the end of each topic, there are a few short tests to test the reader’s knowledge on the topic. We all enjoy reading the book and learning more about how we can reduce our rubbish. Additionally, we have learned some tips on upcycling ideas.
The Drastic Plastic and Troublesome Trash book is available from 8th August 2019 via Carlton Books, good book stores and Amazon.
