My Little Pony – A Canterlot Wedding is an iTune app by Egmont Kids Media Digital A/S. This is an exciting ebook with activities. The story is about the ponies preparing for a Royal Wedding in the magical kingdom of Canterlot! Princess Celestia has given the ponies a job each to do.
There are five activities to do:
- Cook up some treats in the kitchen with Applejack for the wedding feast.
- Design a wonderful wedding gown for the bride with Rarity.
- Compose a song with Fluttershy and her choir of songbirds.
- Help Rainbow Dash perform a perfect sonic rainboom to light up the sky.
- Arrange a beautiful bouquet of flowers with Pinkie Pie.
Both of my children aged 4 and 6 have had a play with the app. It is a very straightforward ebook where the narrator reads it out slowly and clearly. On the left hand side, there is a tab where it shows the wording. If you don’t want to see it, just tap it back! The five activities are fairly easy to do it too and neither child needed my help.
I would say this app is great for younger children from aged 3 onwards, and more targeted towards girls than boys. My daughter, Ms C, absolutely loves the exciting storyline! Don’t girls just love to plan weddings?! My son, on the other hand, is happy to listen along with Ms C. The animation is great with lots of action. Also there are no in-app purchases, so no worries about buying accessories for the ponies! I think Ms C will read the ebook again and again. Now it is reduced to £1.49 which is a great bargain for an ebook.
