Moshi Monsters: Poppet Beads

28 September 2013 by Eileen

Today, we decided to have a lazy Saturday day in with lots of activities and of course a movie and popcorn! Arts and crafts is always a regular activity we love to do as a family. This Poppet Beads set came at just the right time! This Moshi beads is from Vivid Toys and Games. There are 1400 beads in eight different colours. We placed each colour into different pots to help keep the table tidy!  For the grown-ups, I found that having surgical forceps helped. It’s probably not a regular household item but a pair of tweezers would work just as well too!

In this set, there are four different poppets to choose from: Skater, Classic, Artist and Geek Chic. Mr K chose to make Skater while Ms C chose Classic. They are for aged 5 plus onwards. Both of my children are on the young side and they need plenty of my help doing this. They do take a lot of pride placing the beads carefully though. I find it hard as my fingers are too fat and clumsy to place the beads, hence the tweezers/forceps!

After they picked the design, we worked from top to bottom to complete the picture. This activity does take at least 30 minutes or so but they both really enjoyed it throughout. After completing the picture, I placed the provided ironing sheet on top of the pictures and pressed the hot iron onto it. It takes a couple of minutes to melt and stick together.

We have threaded and hung it on their walls and they both love their pictures. I rate this 5 stars out of 5! It is a great activity to do with your children. And of course, if your children are a massive fan of Moshi Monsters, you might like to get them this for Christmas or birthday!

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.

These look good – my son doesn’t have much patience for these kind of activities but he might change his mind if it was a Moshi Monster!
