Egmont is celebrating the Star Wars Reads Campaign this April and on Star Wars Day (May the 4th). We are delighted to be part of this campaign with other nine bloggers. Tomorrow, look out for WeMadeThisLife blogger’s post!
We have receive a selection of Egmont Star Wars books:
• Star Wars: Make and Do
• Star Wars: Rogue One: Book of the Film
• The Force Awakens Illustrated Storybook
When I saw the Star Wars: Make and Do book, I was very excited with its contents! This book teaches you how to draw your favourite Star Wars characters, create cool crafts, and design your own masterpieces in this incredible activity folder. This book has inspired me to make a papier mache stormtrooper helmet for my next blog post! Not only that, you can learn how to make a hairy Wookiee puppet, X-Wing model; Darth Maul t-shirt etc. You also get to learn the steps to sketch and colour Yoda, Darth Vader, R2-D2 and many more. Then use the art pad to bring your own ideas and drawings to life. The book includes stickers and templates to enhance your creations.
The second book of Star Wars Reads challenge, we have here is the Star Wars: Rogue One: Book of the Film. This is the latest Star Wars movie which we watched last year. This book is a paperback containing about 192 pages and it is suitable for aged nine and above. The font comes in one size. It will be released on 6th April 2017.
The story is set before Star Wars: A New Hope. Rogue One follows a rag-tag group of rebel commandos who must steal the plans to the Empire’s new superweapon, the Death Star. This standalone story transports fans to unseen corners of the Star Wars universe and strange new planets not to mention an encounter with a familiar adversary, Darth Vader. My son has watched the movie, so he knew the story already. There are no big words that he can’t understand. He enjoys the book and it has inspired him to want to watch the film again.
Last but not least, we have received The Force Awakens Illustrated storybook which is based on the sequel trilogy episode VII released in 2015. Again, we had watched this movie and this book is based on the screenplay of the movie. Each page is beautifully illustrated and it draws you into the book with lots of action scenes. The book is easy to read and understand. This is definitely a great book for younger aged children.
