Recently, Hasbro Gaming launched a brand new adult-rated edition of the popular game: Midnight Taboo and we were lucky to get it in time for Christmas to play along with our friends. This is a fun and hilarious party game that requires at least four players or more to play.
The set comes with 264 double sided cards, one minute timer, buzzer and score pad. The buzzer will need two AAA batteries which are not included. The buzzer comes in a tear shape and sits nicely in your palm. It has an on/off switch at the back which we often forget to turn off. I love the sound it makes – it’s something you might hear off a gameshow. The quality of the cards are very good and the timer is made from decent a plastic holder. To be honest, I would rather use a timer on my tablet than use that to avoid having to wait for it to reset.
This Midnight Taboo game is very simple and straightforward to play. You will need to have at least two groups of two to play. All you need to do is to get your team to guess the target word on the card but you can’t use any of the forbidden words in your clues, or your opponents will press the buzzer and you will lose your turn. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins the game.
We find that some of the words are quite difficult to describe as it might sound quite rude but it is hilarious. Some of the words are quite modern like emoji, uber, visible panty line etc. Overall it is a fun game that is great to play with adults. It is available to buy it from good toy stores and Amazon.
