As Chinese New Year – The Year of Monkey is approaching, I can’t help thinking what to do next for this year’s theme! Today, I am using LEGO to build me auspicious Chinese New Year words. It is 大吉大利 which means I wish you happiness, luck and wealth. I do have limited LEGO so I am building 大吉 which represents almost the same meaning!
Do check out my other Chinese New Year crafts or visit my Pinterest account! In the past, we have ang pow (red packets) to make a Chinese character sheep, used old ang pow to write Chinese character Monkey, practised writing Chinese New Year words on balloons, 3D paper cutting Spring character and many more.

Before I started building this, I wrote down the Chinese words to use the LEGO to overlay the words and worked from there. Initially it was hard as I have limited LEGO of consistent colours but after a few swaps, I managed to create these two words.
Then I built the white colour bricks around the words and later framed it up with the yellow bricks. Now it is placed along with my Pineapple craft I made earlier.
I hope I have shown you something new and interesting, and now it is your time to explore and learn Chinese words using LEGO!
Disclosure: We have been shortlisted to represent LEGO 2016 Ambassador and this is my entry to be part of LEGO bloggers.
