The Giant of Jum is a book written by uniquely talented author and poet Elli Woollard. This colourful and beautifully illustrated book is brought to life by an award-winning children’s illustrator and animation director Benji Davies. It was published on 23rd April 2015 by Macmillan Children’s Books and available to buy as hardback or paperback via Amazon.
We have hardback copy which contains about 32 pages and a few sentences on each page with a good size font. The content is easy to read by my 7 year old son.
This book is about a hungry giant who meets a boy called Jack. The giant of Jum is grumpy and hungry and he is off in search of a tasty snack. He then thought of a tale that his brother had told of a beanstalk and boy known as Jack. So he sets off to search for the tastiest boy called Jack! But Jack and his friends don’t see the giant of Jum as a scary giant, they see a magically tall man. He is a man who can fetch lost balls and rescue cats from trees!
The story is captivating and easy to read. It comes with rhyming text and a twist on a classic fairy tale. The book is packed full of beautiful illustrations. It also contains an important message for all which is to not eat kids, eat cake instead! It is a lovely bedtime book.
