Scrapbooking Is Easy And Fun, Here’s How You Can Get Started

7 August 2025 by Eileen

If you are interested in finding a new hobby to pass the time then here is an idea for you. If you enjoy photography and capturing special moments and memories in your life then how about scrapbooking? Scrapbooking is a super fun thing to do and you can keep the albums and look back at them over the years.

Unfortunately, the art of scrapbooking has taken a back seat as of late due to phones and other technology being able to do the same thing. Check out the article below to find out more on how you can get into scrapbooking.

Scrapbooking Is Easy And Fun, Here's How You Can Get Started

What Is Scrapbooking?

Scrapbooking is a way of preserving memories in a visual way, far nicer than simply scrolling an album on your phone. It is about writing a story to go alongside pictures, explaining what might be happening and where you are in each. Scrapbooking is a wonderful way to create lasting memories that you can cherish forever, looking back on over the years.

What Angle Are You Going To Aim For?

Scrapbooking can come in many forms, you can simply add some pictures to a book or you can place pictures alongside writing. Journaling is a wonderful addition to any scrapbook as then you won’t have to sit there and think about where you were at any given time. You don’t have to write an essay on each page, just a simple note to say where you were and what you were doing. Maybe even a location and a date, that is more than enough to accompany your wonderful pictures.

What Will You Need?

You may not know what sort of tools and equipment you need for scrapbooking, don’t worry we will tell you everything. If you are printing pictures to stick in your scrapbook then you will either need to sign up to a free printing service, there is a great one on the app store that lets you print a certain amount of photos each month and all you pay is the postage. However, if you really want to enjoy scrapbooking then you could buy printer paper and ink cartridges so you can do this yourself. You will also need double sided tape or sticky squares so your pictures stay secure in the book.

No Need To Rush

Lastly, there is absolutely no need to rush this hobby. Whether you have a spare ten minutes or a spare ten hours, there will always be time to do a small amount of scrapbooking. Adding to the parts and sections that aren’t yet finished. If you rush then you are likely to make mistakes and you don’t want to be tearing out pages left, right, and centre. If you make a plan then you can chop and change before you make any permanent decisions.

We do hope you found this article helpful and you now have a greater understanding of scrapbooking and how to go about it. There is no right or wrong way to scrapbook, as everyone will have different ideas on what looks amazing. Do it your way and you can’t go wrong, get out there and enjoy it.
