Lifesaver Bottle for your peace of mind

5 December 2013 by Eileen

In August, I remember sitting in the living room with my husband watching Dara O Briain’s Science Club. I cringed when I saw Dara and his team taking sips of water out of the LIFESAVER Systems water purification bottle. I was amazed to see how the water from the River Thames turned into drinkable water in just a few pushes of the bottle. The water was so brown and dirty and within a few pumps, the water turn out clear.

Lifesaver Bottle for your peace of mind

What is a Lifesaver Bottle?

Lifesaver Bottle is a portable filtration bottle that removes all bacteria, viruses, cysts, parasites, fungi and all other microbiological waterborne pathogens without the aid of any foul tasting chemicals like iodine or chlorine or the need for any power or UV light from dirty water, making it safe to drink.

How does it work?

The activated carbon filters reduces a broad spectrum of chemical residues. It also eliminates bad tastes and odours from contaminates.

So who is behind this clever invention?

Michael Pritchard the inventor and founder of LIFESAVER Systems with assistance from E3 Design and Omega Plastics who helped design and develop the bottle.  Without them, we wouldn’t have this new technology to help many lives especially those who have recently been affected by the Typhoon Haiyan.

What to use for?

Lifesaver Bottle is not just for use when there is a disaster! It can be used while camping, hiking, fishing or travelling around rural areas where clean water is sparse.  They can save you from carrying extra heavy weight of clean water bottles and giving you more space and less weight in your backpack for other stuffs.

With the bottle, there is no time wasted filtering water at the point of collection or waiting for chemicals to work. Simply ‘Scoop and Go’. Give it a few pumps and as soon as you open the teat clean drinking water begins to flow. You are able to drink from it at any angle and use it to fill mugs, water bottles, pans and other water storage vessels.

So if you have loved ones who like camping/hiking or even climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, why not buy them a Lifesaver Bottle for Christmas for peace of mind!

This sort of science is amazing – I saw that programme and it seems so improbable, but it really does have the right name!
