Getting Married? Check These Items Off Of Your To-Do List

3 March 2023 by Eileen

Congratulations! You are going to marry your favourite person, the love of your life, and your best friend. You are about to embark on an amazing adventure through life together. But first, you need to tie the proverbial knot. Check these items off of your wedding to-do list, and you will be all set.

Getting Married Check These Items Off Of Your To-Do List

Find the Dress

Your wedding dress sets the stage for everything from the decor to the flowers. When you want to find the best selection and high-end styles around, go to The Wedding Shop. Peruse the offerings online or make an appointment to go in for a bridalwear fitting. If you have a specific vision in mind, great! If not, go with an open mind and try on cuts and styles that you may not usually gravitate toward. You may be surprised at what you decide to purchase.

Bring along a few of your favourite people who are brimming with fun and positivity. Let them help you define your look for your special day. Remember to enjoy the experience. After all, all of these appointments are preparing you for your wedding day, but you should still appreciate the journey and steps you will take to get there.

Find a Venue

Would you like to get married and hold your wedding reception at the same location? If so, your logistics will be easier as you will not need to arrange transportation for yourselves, the wedding party, and your families to move from one location to the next. If not, that is ok, too!

Talk with your partner to decide whether you wish to marry in a church, a hotel, or outdoors. Perhaps you are interested in a destination wedding or something more unique such as a museum or other public space you find meaningful as a couple.

Make the Guest List

A major part of your wedding day includes the people that you choose to share it with. You and your fiance should sit down and write up separate guest lists. Once you have completed them, cross-reference any duplicate individuals. From there, determine how many people you wish to have at the wedding and ceremony.

As a couple, ask yourselves a few questions to help you decide how to proceed with your guest list.

  • Do you have a maximum capacity for your venue?
  • Would you like to throw a big party or keep it intimate and small?
  • Do you want to have a smaller ceremony and invite more people to the reception?

The guest list can be tricky for some people. Watch this video for a wedding planner’s tips on how to decide who to invite to your wedding.

There are many more things to do and items to check off your list. If you take care of the ones in this blog article, you will be well on your way to a smooth and well-planned wedding. Your wedding day is a special event, and you should treat it as such. It is, also, your day to unite with your partner. Try your best to enjoy the process and make the best decisions for both of you and your future.
