PAJ GPS Power Finder 4G Review

28 September 2022 by Eileen

With an increasing number of car thieves, a GPS tracking device can be an extremely affordable and effective way to increase vehicle security and provide protection against car theft. Having quick access to location information in the palm of your hand can give you greater peace of mind. Besides keeping your car safe, you can also locate your car in a large car park, monitor where a car park valet parked your car and many more great reasons why you need a car tracker.

PAJ GPS Power Finder review

I am delighted to review this portable PAJ GPS Power Finder tracker for our car. Did you know that besides car tracking device, PAJ GPS also sells a wide range of GPS trackers for asset trackers, dog trackers and even for your loved ones? They were founded in Germany in 2011. They provide the highest quality standards for their customers and develop great devices and apps.

For their car trackers, they offer four different kinds of devices for your needs: Vehicle Finder 1.0 4G, Car OBD Finder 4G, Car OBD Finder 4G 2.0 and Power Finder 4G. As the names suggest, these devices use the 4G network and have global coverage with network access in more than 100 countries.

The Vehicle Finder is probably the best one to own as it is not easily noticeable, but it requires you to install it under the bonnet on top of the battery by a professional mechanic. As for the Car OBD, it is an easy installation by direct connection to the OBD interface and does not have to be recharged as it is constantly charged via the car’s OBD interface. If the Finder is disconnected from the vehicle, the internal battery can last up to a day. You can find the OBD interface in some cars either in the boot, under the dashboard or the passenger’s seat etc. It is best to refer to the car manual for the location if you’re unsure.

We have chosen the Power Finder for our car because we didn’t want the hassle of having it installed and also our OBD interface is constantly in use by our solar panel which provides a trickle charge to top up our car battery when not in use. Hence, Power Finder is the best choice for us. Also, as it is so portable, we can even use it on a motorbike or as a personal tracker. It’d be a great choice for other machinery, trucks, boats, etc.

This Power Finder is a portable, 10,000 mAh battery-powered tracking device. It can last approximately 40 days with an active tracking duration of approximately one hour per day and in standby mode for up to 90 days. You can always check the battery life via the app.

The package comes with a robust splashproof device with an M2M SIM card inserted, adhesive magnet, charging cable and instructions. Before you use the Finder, you must charge it for approximate 8 hours. To activate the Finder, you have to activate it online first by choosing their subscription options: £89.99 every 2 years, £54.99 yearly or £5.99 per month. You will need to key in your device ID, which can be found on the back of the Finder.

Once you activate, you can switch on the Finder by opening the housing cover, removing the rubber cover and sliding the slider to ON. The housing cover is quite difficult to remove, so we carefully used a flat screwdriver to prise it open.

Now put the rubber and housing cover back. The red LED and the battery indicator will light up for approximate 20 seconds, which means the Finder is switched on. If there is no light, it means the Finder is switched off. At home, it is quite difficult to get a signal, hence it is best to place the Finder outside and not in a covered area, avoiding garages, basements etc.

Once I set it up, I hid it inside the car carefully. It has to be hidden yet easy for me to remove to charge.

Our Finder has already been set up with the Finder Portal hence I won’t be to walk you through that part. But I am sure, it is quite easy as long as you set up your subscription plan using your bank card. Once logged in, I can set up notifications to my app or email in case of shaking, lifting/dropping, low battery, exceeding the speed limit and leaving/entering a certain area. I can also see real-time location.

This Finder is a great tool for car owners especially as car theft is rife these days. It is very easy to install, portable and affordable to buy, including the subscription. It has good battery life and is very accurate to pinpoint location in real-time. This device gives me peace of mind and security. I would highly recommend it. They are available to buy from Amazon.
