Last year, we got to try out Avoalre high ankle athletic socks and until now some are still wearable. We are quite hard users so it’s been a good test of their durability. This time around, we were invited to try out these low-ankle socks. The differences between these two types of socks are that this current one has a heel tab and they don’t wrap around the ankle like the previous socks we reviewed. If you prefer to have low-ankle wrapped socks, these will be suitable for you.
First, let me tell you about the brand Avoalre. They started off with an aspiration to create athletic socks for every sports person to enjoy. They source their own materials, design and put the socks through a variety of moisture absorption performance tests, friction and endurance tests. Their unique selling point (USP) is that their socks fit well and are comfortable.
The athletic socks come in two common colour designs: black with grey & grey with white, and four different sizes S, M, L and XL. We had read some reviews on Amazon regarding the sizes being smaller than they are. So we all went with a large size instead. I am size 8, Mr C is size 6 and Mr K is size 7.
All the socks fit very well and are snug on us. The socks wrapped just under our ankle joints. Personally, I prefer high ankle socks, but Mr C and Mr K are happy with these. If you prefer this style, then these should be great for you.
They do not feel tight or uncomfortable. The socks give the right amount of support all over the feet. They are made from Coolmax high-tech fibre fabric and made with “Lycra” fibre. The design uses a blend of 30% Coolmax, 30% cotton, 35% nylon, and 5% Lycra materials for breathable, comfortable, soft, elasticity and excellent cushioning qualities.
These affordable high-performance socks come in packs of three. They are very well made with no loose threads in sight. It is a low ankle design that will fit most of your shoes. It comes with a heel tab design. The heel tabs are well padded and smooth to the touch. They don’t roll down or cause any discomfort.
I like the smooth, flat-toe seam as it is almost invisible, but you can still make out the seam line. It removes the potential friction and blistering. Near the toe seam of each sock, it is labelled left and right for easy identification and matching. The size is also indicated on the top of the socks in case you mismatch them.
The socks provide a bit of extra stretch and support. They deliver a snug fit and ensure everything stays in place in your shoes whilst running or during a workout. They are well priced for three pairs of socks and durable. I do note that they cannot be tumble dried, ironed, bleached or dry cleaned. It is best to hand wash with water temperature not exceeding 40°c. My previous review socks have all been machine washed and tumble dried and are still wearable. I think hand washing the socks would prolong the life of the socks though.
They are pricier than the cheapest sports socks, but they are not going to break the bank. I think it is worth paying more for comfortable socks that fit well and won’t immediately wear through. They are available to buy now from Amazon and you can get a 10% discount using this code 10% 9Q5J4AIS which ends 31st January 2025. So hurry and make sure you don’t miss out!
