Planning Tips To Make Your Wedding Stress-Free

30 May 2022 by Eileen Leave a Comment

If you are currently engaged or thinking about the prospect of spending your life with your favourite person, there are so many things on your to-do list already. Do not let the idea of wedding planning overwhelm you to the point where the process becomes stressful instead of joyful. Keep reading for some tips on how to make your wedding planning worry-free.

Planning Tips To Make Your Wedding Stress-Free

Make a Calendar

Planning a wedding of any size takes coordination and attention to detail. Make it easy on yourself by setting up a wedding-only calendar. Create a new calendar in Google or any other platform you currently use. Once you create the calendar, add wedding entries in a colour different from those you already use for work, personal life, etc. This way, when looking at all of the calendars at once, you can easily differentiate one entry from another. You can also select only the wedding calendar to hone in on your to-do list.

Here is a list of necessary appointments to make:

  • Book the wedding venue. This should be the first appointment to make as all of the other companies you hire will need this date to determine availability. If you can visit the venue to ensure it looks as good as it does online. Should your wedding be scheduled in the early evening, visit then to see how the lighting will be. (Of note, lighting will vary from season to season.)
  • Hire a wedding photographer. Contact the wedding photographer as soon as you secure your location. Peruse their website and take note of any pictures you like. If there are certain photos, such as family photos or candid shots throughout the reception, be sure to discuss this with the photographer. You must communicate your vision of what your wedding album will look like so your special day is captured exactly as you wish.
  • Secure the caterer and wedding cake. Your next task is to contact caterers. This may take more time than the previous two calendar items as you will likely want to do a taste test. If your caterer is not making your wedding cake, follow the same procedures as with the caterer in your search for the perfect wedding cake for you and your partner. First, look at what they have to offer on their respective menus. If they do not have what you are interested in, always ask.
  • Remember the details. Some people may not list these as details, but they generally take less time than those listed above. Schedule time to select your wedding dress and accessories, flowers and decorations, invitations and thank you cards, transportation, the officiant, and other vendors.

Here is a video on choosing the best wedding suppliers that will be right for you.

Every wedding is different. Whether your wedding incorporates unique traditions from your culture or you add new ones, make it special by making it your own. Plan well so you are not caught off-guard at the last minute. And capture it all through beautiful photographs that you will cherish forever. Congratulations!
