Since the pandemic, many office workers have switched to working from home. It does not mean everyone’s house is suitable for home working, especially given limited workspace and lighting. Often ceiling lights can cast shadows onto their PC/laptop or they work in low light conditions which will cause eye strain for many people.
Now I have a great solution for you! With this Quntis LED monitor light, it can effectively reduce eye strain by reducing glare and dazzle from your monitor reflection. It also helps to create better lighting around the workspace and potentially boost your productivity.
This 40cm monitor light comes with an LED lamp bar, 2-metre type-C USB cable, screen clip, hex key, two adjustment covers and instructions. I like that the lamp bar has a matt surface to avoid getting a lot of fingerprints on it. It looks very stylish and is lightweight.
The lamp bar only takes 5 watts and it should last 25,000 hours, which is roughly 8 hours a day for 8 years.
The 2-metre cable should allow you to power the light from PC towers placed on the floor for example. It requires a USB port either on your PC or laptop for the power input. It can also be powered by a power bank or USB adapter, which is sold separately. If you don’t have any spare USB ports, maybe you could buy a separate extension lead with a USB port.
The screen clip has a spring inside and it can open a maximum of 1.2cm. The hex key is provided to tighten the screen clip. I haven’t needed to use it, but if you do find the screen clip moves too much, you can remove the sticky cover and tighten it.
There are two adjustment covers provided for different thicknesses of monitor. My monitor screen is an ultra-thin screen, hence I will be using the big adjustment cover. The big adjustment cover is for monitors between 7 to 20mm thick. The small adjustment cover is for monitors 15mm to 28mm thick. If your monitor is 28mm to 35mm thick, you won’t need the adjustment cover.
This monitor light is very easy to install. Simply place the lamp bar onto the screen clip, plug in the cable, then place the adjustment cover on the screen clip, according to the thickness of your monitor. Then clip it onto the middle of the screen. In my video, you would see the contents of the box, how I fix it and what I think about it: https://youtu.be/oVVWxVn_bWc
On the lamp bar, it has four functions which are touch sensitive and easy to use. There is an on/off button, light sensor switch, colour control temperature (CCT) and dimming feature. If the light sensor switch is selected, it will automatically adjust the lighting according to the environment. To change the colour mood, touch the colour control temperature button for 3 seconds to change from 3000k – 4000k – 6500k.
Overall I am very impressed with this monitor light. It helps to reduce the glare of my computer screen, is very lightweight, portable, looks neat on my monitor and I am able to set the mood of the lighting. Best of all, it lights up the right amount of lighting around my workspace.
