Don’t you find it hard to buy the perfect bed for your pooch, especially if they can’t communicate with you what are their favourite type of bed is? It could be either a plastic bed, nest, donut dog bed or a firm mattress.
When we first had Mabel, our Buddy dog from Guide Dog, I bought her the all-flat Bedsure mattress with orthopaedic foam to start with. She enjoys it a lot and spent a lot of her time sleeping there. She also likes sleeping on firm surfaces with arms, like our sofa chair. She likes to pop her head on the arms of the sofa to watch us from afar. When we were offered to review this Bedsure large dog sofa bed, I didn’t hesitate at all. I know this will be the perfect bed for her, especially as she likes to pop her head on raised surfaces.
I have previously bought a Bedsure bed from Amazon, hence I knew what I was getting, in terms of the quality of the mattress and covers. I am very pleased with the brand!
This large Bedsure dog sofa bed comes with an orthopaedic foam insert with egg-crate that structures to evenly distribute the pet’s weight to relieves pressure points and improves circulation. It also comes with a waterproof liner for the foam to prevents water penetration. This sofa bed provides 3-sided pillow-like bolsters designed to furnish hip and neck support for preferable comfort.
It comes in a compact box with two vacuum packets. Once I opened the vacuum packets, the bed and foam bounced into shape very quickly. It didn’t take long for the pillow to firm up into the right shape. I then inserted the foam with zipped waterproof liner into the bed. Just a few shakes and the bed took shape nicely.
Within seconds of putting down the bed, Mabel just went onto it and started making herself comfy! She loves the shape of the bed! She also rests her head on the pillow-like bolsters. She is a large Labrador golden retriever weighing 30 kg. The bed might look too small for her, but she likes to curl up on her bed to sleep. It is a perfect size and shape for her to keep her cosy. In fact, this large sofa dog bed is suitable for dogs up to 34 kg.
The foam is firm and holds the shape well. Also, the stitching on the waterproof liner cover and dog bed cover are brilliant and they are very nicely finished all around. There is not a loose thread in sight, no lumpiness to the filling bolsters and no hard edges overall, except near the zips. The bottom of the bed cover comes with small rubbery grips which hold the bed firmly on the floor tiles. This bed is made to a really high standard.
The dog bed cover can be washed in the washing machine in cold water with a pet-safe detergent, but not the orthopaedic foam. The orthopaedic foam is protected by a waterproof liner which can be wiped clean with a cloth. I love the grey colour of the bed cover as it matches our current furnishings. I would totally recommend Bedsure beds for your pets.
