Wing Care App Review

7 September 2020 by Eileen Leave a Comment

Are you worried that your child is being bullied online? Are they struggling with harassment or having anti-social behaviour issues, Wing Care was created by parents to help other parents. They are here to help you keep your child safe when they are on social media.

Wing Care App Review

So how does this work? Will this app invade their personal space? Basically, you will need to connect their social media accounts to the app and Wing Care app will use the information to evaluate how your child interacts online and measures the emotional content they are exposed to.

Wing Care App chart

It is a thin line of invading their personal space but the app will not store any of your child’s message data nor will the team see any of the messages. It will not reveal any interactions or conversations unless it spots a potential risk – like cyberbullying or explicit messages. If this happens, the app will let you know automatically.

Currently, this app is only able to access Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts. In the near future, more will be added like TikTok, email, Pinterest, Tumblr, SMS etc. For many social media accounts, there is an age restriction of 13 years old, but many parents allow their children to open an account so that they can access video, speak to their friends or to keep in contact with long-distance relatives! So this app could help keep an eye out for you!

Wing Care App emotion

The app assesses the five core emotions: happiness, sadness, fear, anger and disgust. You will get a daily report showing how many posts your child has exchanged, and the emotional content of their interactions.

I have used it on Mr K and he is not a heavy social media user hence I currently don’t have much to worry about. On the app, it will show you the threats and you can view it and select if you agree to the decision. It provides feedback to the team to make the app better. You can also tailor how the app works by choosing how sensitive you would like the app to be to potential threats. So you are in control to judge at the same time.

These days, many parents are too busy and with this app, it will give you peace of mind and help you to keep an eye on your child which I can totally stand by it. At the moment, it only allows these three popular social media accounts and I hope that in no time, we are able to access the rest of the popular applications to access our children’s emotions!

Wing works on iOS & Android smartphones and tablets, as well as Mac & Windows computers. It uses secure AI technology, created by British scientists. You can download the app via App Store or Play Store for peace of mind of £6.99 per month for a family plan to protect up to five children on multiple devices. It gives you a seven-day free trial and if you are not happy with it, you can cancel it anytime.

Disclosure: This is a featured post. We received a month free access for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own. Images from the app.
